Alphabet Reading Challenge

So, I recently took this picture of my TBR pile:

And by “pile”, I obviously mean bookcases. (Fun fact, there’s one more TBR bookcases to the left with all my mismatched series)

Bottom line is; I have over 600 unread books, and I should really do something about that.

My solution?

Alphabet Reading Challenge

The idea is simple. Read a book with a title that starts with A, then B, then C, etc. I will attempt to choose books from their starting letter, but since I don’t own a book that starts with X, I will choose a book where X is somewhere in the title (like Nyxia, for example).

I’ve already read the first book:

And I Darken, by Kiersten White.

Next up is B.

How about you? Have you ever done these challenges? Would you want to?

OMG! Over 600 unread books?! I’d go mad jajaja
I don’t know how many unread books I have but I think I have no more than 20. This challenge is great because my number 1 problem is getting to choose which book should I read next, this would make it easier.
    Wish you luck!!

THAT’S EXACTLY MY PROBLEM TOO. I spend more time choosing a book to read than it would take reading it.

I’ve also tried different kinds of book bingos and such, hopefully this will help me knock a few off my tbr

This seems like such an awesome and fun challenge! I haven’t read And I Darken yet, though it’s on my tbr so definitely let me know your thoughts after you finish reading it! Awesome post! I just stumbled upon your blog, and I’m greatly enjoying its content.

I’m new to blogging and book reviewing, and I was wondering if you had any tips for newbie bloggers and book reviewers.

If you have the time, please check out my blog @breenysbooks. I’d love any feedback. Have a wonderful day.

Oh, you should definitely check it out. I was pleasantly surprised by And I Darken, even though my heart was in a constant state of panic because I was afraid for the characters.

I would love to help, but really, I’m so not a seasoned blogger at all. Like, I just post whenever I feel like it, which also accidentally meant not posting at all between January and August this year. 🙈

As for reviews, I’m kinda working on my own recipe for them. Like, I want them to be honest, fair, and easily digested. But how? That’s still a problem for me. 😅

I’m very flattered you like my blog, though. And I’ll definitely check out your blog as well 🙂

And I Darken sounds awesome! At least I’ll know what I’m getting into before I start reading it, so thank you for that. I wish you the best of luck as you continue to find what works for you and your blog, but you’re definitely on an awesome path (because there isn’t really a “right” path when it comes to blogging, every blogger is different). =)

Definitely seems like a fun idea! However, I like the concept of the Popsugar Reading Challenge a bit more since it makes you look for the books that fit one of the prompts. That challenge made me read books I wouldn’t have picked up otherwise, haha.
Other than that, posting a TBR-list on my blog definitely helps as well. I’d hate it if I had to update at the end of the month and go “Well.. I didn’t read any or only one or two of them” so that definitely a motivation for me as well.

Now I just set myself the goal of having to go from three double-stacked TBR-shelves to two by the end of the year so I’ve got my extra reading goal, haha. First up, Sequel September! That’ll – hopefully – be 12 books less on my TBR-shelves. 😀

Good luck with your Alphabet Reading Challenge! ^-^
